Giant Baby Doll

Yesterday I hung out with a Three Year Old and her 11month old sister.  In the first photo V has decided she doesn’t like me very well.  She wants her daddy, thank you very much.  In the second photo she had just finished dressing up her giant baby doll.   Don’t let the tutus fool you.  The child is more Roman Centurion than Russian Ballerina.  If you’d caught a glimpse of her doing pull ups in the kitchen (there was carrot cake on the counter) you’d believe it.

Pooh, Porridge and PJs

On Friday and Saturday we hung out with the three Ts. Whenever we visit Miss D and her family she’s always the first at the breakfast table.   Here she sits just before the morning meal.  She dined on muffins and fruit after declaring the porridge I cooked “Tastes like paper, at the end.”

Pooh. Porridge.

the dark side

We’ve been thinking about it for a while now.  Trading in the PCs for their trendier, more youthful (if you believe the adverts) cousins.  I’ve worked on Macs before and, being a PC girl, could never understand what all the fuss was about.  Then I spent Saturday morning feeling up a 24 inch iMac and good grief but that’s a sexy piece of machinery!

Still, I was born frugal - although the husband may argue this point - and am just not sold on the price differential yet.  Is the bang worth the buck?  If that lovely stimulus cheque wasn’t already spent on more practical things I’d find out.  As it is, I still decided to get a little something to satisfy my Apple-Evny.  Good one Mr. Jobs.

Get Creative

Hewlitt Packard would like to fuel your creative side with their online activity center.  Hundreds of free print projects for the aspiring Martha in all of us.   For mother’s day, try a twill and basil framed image.

Choose between a subtle antique beige twill or a basil leaf green photo frame. Then, add extra decorative accents and a personalized caption, such as a favorite quote. In minutes, you’ll have a beautiful keepsake ready for a 5″ x 7″ frame. It’s perfect for your home or as a thoughtful gift.

All you need is some glossy photo paper, Adobe Reader software (free download here), and your images.  HP will do the rest.

Ts

I’ll be trying something similar with these two photos.

Thumbalina

Watching the BBC Ten O’Clock News and cleaning out my hard drive.

A copy of this print is in just about every photo album I have. I love it that much. Me and two of my lovely little friends. Taken at a sleepover last Fall. Both girls were braiding my hair. Only the little one didn’t do so much braiding as twisting. It was great.

everest

It just occurred to me that this lovely little lady’s father may not have appreciated my failure to assist his youngest daughter as she made her first attempt at mountain climbing. But the look on her face as she tried to make it up the two grown up size steps was priceless.

Baby K

She only recently - as in days - started crawling. So the steps - which she managed on her own after 25 minutes of sheer determination - were monumental.

Baby K

Baby K’s mother invited me for lunch. I took my camera. Above are a few of the photos from the day. Which, as of today, are still looking a little wonky on my monitor because the blog still needs a little upgrading. Come back tomorrow. It’ll look better. I promise. :)

Egypt in England

British Museum

One of us is obsessed with Egyptology and can tell you all the when, where and what there is to know about these two objects. The other can only say that these are Ancient Egyptian artifacts found in the British Museum in London. A place the both of us like very much.

Scooby Snacks

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is this old school, Scooby-Doo type amusement park in the North of England. It’s arguably tragic if you go there for a serious day out. But when you take it for what it is, get out before the sun goes down, and don’t look back for another ten years or so - it’s good fun.
